Assembly of
new 30-million-roof-tiles-a-year plant completed in Koscian (Poland)
The first
European plant for the production of roof tiles using the "rapid drying
method" and subsequent H-support firing is being established at Koscian,
in Poland, in a facility belonging to the Etex-Creaton Group: here, Sacmi's
designers and technicians have just completed, on schedule, assembly of the
drying department.
The plant's
main strong point is rapid on-roller drying technology, being used for the
first time in Europe in the wake of the success of overseas installations.
Constituting the core of the plant are the two 6-tier rapid roller driers,
capable of completing the drying cycle in just 220 minutes.
Now comes
the plant start-up phase. Once the facility is up and running it will produce a
staggering 30 million roof tiles per year. Sacmi will also be providing the
Koscian plant with a fully automatic trim drying system, which instead uses the
more traditional static cell method.
