Over 1,800 German architects and planners designate Wienerberger as the "Architects' Darling" for energy efficiency
Within the scope of one of the largest branch surveys in Germany- initiated by Heinze market research, one of the construction sector's leading information service providers - architecture and planning firms were asked to name their favorite producers in the German-speaking countries and name the company that offers the best products and solutions in the individual trades and construction areas. More than 1,800 architects and designers throughout Germanyvoted to award Wienerberger gold in the category for energy efficiency from a selection of 200 producers and brands in the construction industry. The Architects' Darling Awards comprises five awards for design, accessibility for people with impairments, energy efficiency, innovation and sustainability as well as product awards in 17 categories such as roof, façade, windows etc.
This award confirms that decision-makers see Wienerberger as one of the most sought-after suppliers in Germany. With innovative products like the high thermal insulating POROTHERM infill block generation, the company has gained a leading position as a supplier of economical and sustainable system solutions for energy-efficient construction.
Top prizes in three categories at the renowned US "Brick In Architecture Awards"
General Shale, the North American subsidiary of Wienerberger AG, received top prizes in three categories at the nationwide Brick In Architecture (BIA) Awards in the USA. These awards have been presented since the 1980s and are among the most important architecture prizes in the USA. An independent architecture jury rated General Shale best-in-class in the residential/single family house category for the Pierce/Lee House in Cedartown, Georgia. General Shale also received gold in the commercial category for the New York Mets' Citi Field Stadium in New Yorkand bronze in the educational category for the Thomson Hall building at HopkinsSchoolin New Haven, Connecticut.
