General Shale to host open house

General Shale Brick, the North American subsidiary of Wienerberger AG and a leading manufacturer of one of the world’s oldest green building materials, is celebrating the opening of its new showroom at 925 E. Stone Drive, Kingsport, with an open house on Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The open house will feature door prizes, a 15 percent discount on purchases made that weekend and other goodies. Radio station 98.5 WTFM will be on hand for live remote coverage.

“We are excited to open this new showroom on Stone Drive for friends and neighbors to come by and check out the new outdoor living products, new brick colors, thin brick and thin rock as well as the many other choices we have,” says Dick Green, General Shale Brick president and CEO. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to have an event like this in our back door and to be able to purchase any of our products at a reduced price for the weekend.” Visitors over the age of 18 may register in a grand prize drawing for their choice of a small fireplace or water feature do-it-yourself kit.

Two drawings will also be held for a choice of a fire pit, mailbox or garden bench DIY kit. Winners do not have to be present to win. Customers will receive 15 percent off all purchases during the weekend.

Normal business hours for the Kingsport Showroom are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday through Oct. 29 (closed on Saturday during the winter months).
