WITH THE ACQUISITION OF SMB MASCHINENBAU GMBH, VÖHRINGEN, LINGL EXPANDS ITS CORE COMPETENCES IN THE MACHINERY AND PLANT ENGINEERING SECTOR

On 24 March 2017, Lingl Anlagenbau und Verfahrenstechnik GmbH & Co. KG (LINGL) acquired the know-how and the intangible assets of SMB Maschinenbau GmbH as part of an asset deal.

Based in Vöhringen, SMB is a regionally well-known and recognized company specialized in machinery and plant engineering for the timber processing industry.

With the acquisition of SMB, LINGL expands its core competences by adding another, new business segment to the group’s portfolio. On 3 April 2017, the newly-established SMB Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG headed by the Managing Director, Mr. Hugo Schneider, has started production with ten former employees of SMB at the LINGL headquarters in Krumbach.

A first major order placed by the Fruytier Group in Belgium is already in hand.

The acquisition of this sector will not only bring additional advantages for the in-house plant technology of LINGL but also generate additional sales potential.
