Revenues in
Central-West Europe declined 6% to € 73.9 million and operating EBITDA fell from € -2.8
million in the first three months of 2011 to € -4.4 million for the reporting
period.
Similar
weather-related volume declines were reported in all countries. Average prices
were higher due to price increases and shifts in the product mix, but the cold
winter also led to lower volumes and additional production costs in this
segment.
We expect
positive impulses for the development of business during the remainder of this year, above
all from Germany. An order backlog from housing units that were approved in
2011 but not yet built should support the demand for building materials in the
first half of 2012.
Together
with the robust renovation market, which is a key driver for our roof tile
business, we expect moderate growth in Germany for the full year.
