History:

  • The industrie pica group is the natural evolution of Pica S.p.A., with the aim of dealing suitably with all customer requirements in the area of finishing elements for the building industry.
  • The story of the Pica trademark began at the end of the 1930s, when the Pierangeli and Cangiotti Brickworks, seriously damaged by the war, was rebuilt and enlarged.
  • In 1954 the two founding partners changed the company name to Pica S.p.A., using the initial letters of their surnames.
  • In the mid-1980s the company bought out the firm Cotto Zoni. With this takeover, the Group entered into the rustic terracotta flooring industry. This was the first important integration of the Pica range.
  • In 1991 the Group bought out Cotto David, a company located in Asciano in the province of Siena. Thus the range of Pica products was further enriched with typically Tuscan terracotta floorings and paving.
